Tournament Information and Regulations
The below information applies to all Match Point Table Tennis events and tournaments. VETTS partnership tournament regulations can be found on the booking link to all VETTS partnership events.
1. All entries must be completed by the advertised closing date.
2. Payment must be completed by the closing date to be fully accepted, unless tournament organisers are informed otherwise.
3. Refunds will be given if an entry is withdrawn prior to the closing date. No refunds will be given if an entry is withdrawn on or after the closing date.
4. Entries are accepted on a first come first served basis.
5. Event winners will win the advertised monetary prizes, paid in cash on the day of the tournament.
6. If a participant aged under 16 wins a cash prize in the event, this money will be awarded to their parent/guardian/carer.
7. Play throughout will be with DHS WTT DJ40+ 3* balls. The number of tables used depends on the venue. With our current venues, 6 tables will be used at Milton Keynes and St Neots, 7 tables at Draycott and 12 tables at York. Barriers will surround all courts.
8. There will be no separate practice facilities.
9. All groups for morning events will start at 8.30am, unless stated within the tournament advertisement. All groups for afternoon events will start at 3pm, unless started within the tournament advertisement. Registration opens 30 minutes before groups begin. Players must go to the control table to register.
10. Food and drink are available to purchase at the venue.
11. Players are expected to umpire matches according to the group sheets. In the knockout rounds, the losing player on each table must umpire the following match.

13. Entry fees: £25 per player.
14. The tournament format will be as advertised. The tournament draw will be emailed to participants in the week before the tournament date.
15. The draw will be split into Pots. Players cannot be drawn in a group with any player from the same pot. Pots will be decided based on Table Tennis England Rating, and, where applicable, tournament organiser discretion. The tournament organisers decision on pots is final.
16. For restricted events, players ratings on their date of entry will be used to determine their eligibility for the event. Tournament organiser discretion may be used, especially with players who do not have a current rating. The female ratings list does not apply to restricted events; however, tournament organiser discretion will be used for all female players.
17. Photo and live streaming may take place during this event which may include (but not limited to) using them in printed and online platforms, social media and press releases. If you do not give permission to take photographs and/or video of you (or individuals for whom you are legally responsible) please contact matchpointevents@outlook.com.
18. Code of Conduct – players and coaches are expected to conduct themselves as would be expected at a Table Tennis England event.
19. All group and knockout matches will be best of 5 games. The final order in a group shall be determined as per ITTF regulation 3.75 for group competitions except that where a player concedes a match, he/she shall receive -3 group points.
20. There is no age restriction, unless stated in the tournament advertisement. Junior events are open to players aged 19 or under on the date of the tournament.
21. Players must not wear shirts that are predominantly white.
22. Competitors will be permitted to practice on tables not in use at the discretion of the organiser.
23. No competitor or official shall engage in betting on players or matches.
24. Doping shall not take place either before or during the day
25. All competitors must report to the control table and register on arrival and must not leave the venue without deregistering at the control table.
26. The use of bats prepared with glue containing VOC’s will not be allowed.
27. The organisers decision shall be final on points of law on any questions arising not provided for in these regulations or in any dispute as to the interpretation thereof. Decisions on points of fact by an umpire shall be final.
28. Any UK earnings/tax implications, and/or UK visa implications, arising from prize winnings at this event are strictly the responsibility of the participant.
